PierScape Whitney Pier Society for the Arts started PierScape in 1997 as a way to recognize and spotlight the many talented artists from Cape Breton and to show the contributions that they have made to their community. An annual festival seemed like to best way to serve this purpose and so PierScape Arts Festival was born. PierScape is now a weeklong festival, which celebrates the cultural richness that Cape Breton has to offer through the arts.

The CAP Society of Cape Breton County, formed in 1999, is a regional working group of CAP Sites in Cape Breton County, working to enhance and further develop the delivery of the C@P goals and objectives.
