Moraff's Yarns And Crafts

Moraff's Yarns and Crafts was started by Hymie and Ida Moraff in the 1920s.  Back then the establishment was called Moraff's Ladies and Children's Wear and was famous for its fine selection of ladies hats.  Their daughter Evelyn ( Moraff ) Davis took over the business in 1972.  Originally she was not allowed to keep the name Moraff because of a sexist law where only the son of the parent's business could keep the original name.  Evelyn and her husband Harold Davis would have none of this, they got the law changed and Moraffs Yarns and Crafts remains to this day.

Agnes Harris worked for the Davis' for 20 yrs before taking over the business in Oct. 2007.  She offers knitting and crocheting classes and says she is noticing that more and more young people are showing an interest in knitting.  As the new owner of Moraff's, Agnes is keeping up the reputation of this long time family owned business by offering high quality service.
