Needs Convenience Store moved from the corner Henry and Victoria Road to the corner of Mount Pleasant Street in 1989. Betty Sharples who is a life long resident of Whitney Pier became the manager in 2004. She beat cancer in 2006 when she had to take a year off but has never wanted to take any time away. This Needs Store which is owned by Sobey's has a staff of 6, most of whom have worked together for years. They get 65-85 kids at dinnertime and are open 24 – 7.
